About this index

EveryModel is an independent index of appliances on the Australian market, built from the Australian Government's GEMS registration database — the register of every model legally offered for sale, with its capacity, energy rating, annual energy consumption, dimensions and test-cycle times. The current washing machine dataset covers 254 models (registry export of 27 Aug 2026).

Method

Registry data is joined to retail prices collected from retailer and manufacturer sites, most recently 10 Sept 2026. Where the registry omits a dimension or spin speed, the figure is taken from the retailer's published spec sheet and flagged as such; where both sources list a figure, the registry's is used. Every price and spec-sheet figure carries the date it was collected. Nothing on the site is based on hands-on testing.

Price joins are strict: a price attaches to a model only when the retailer's model number matches exactly or differs by a single suffix character, so a price cannot land on the wrong variant.

EveryModel is not affiliated with the Australian Government. Registry data is used under its CC-BY licence, with corrections reported where errors are found. Site operation is funded by retailer commissions — see how we make money.
